Select By Point

This tool allows you to select features on the map by clicking a single point. Any features of the active layer that fall within the selection tolerance will be selected. Please refer to the Identifying Features section to change the selection tolerance.

Steps For Selecting By Point

  1. Click on the layer you want to select feature from on the legend. This will select the layer.
  2. Click the Select By Point button Select by point button on the SelectionTools toolbar.
  3. Move the mouse over the map and click a single point. Features of the active layer that fall within the selection tolerance will be selected and drawn using the selection symbology.


Steps For Viewing Attribute Data Of Selected Features

  1. Right-click on the layer in the legend. A new menu will popup.
  2. Click on Open Attribute Table.
  3. The Attribute Table dialog for the layer you clicked on will open. Click on the Show Selected Features button to see only the attributes of the selected features.
