Draw Nodes On Line Layer

This tool will graphically display the the end node types for each line in the visible map extent. A red circle will indicate a dangling node, that is the end point of a line that is not connected to the end point of any other lines. A blue circle indicates a node that is connected to a single node on another line, that is the end point of a line is connected to one, and only one, end point of another line. A green circle indicates a node that is connected to two or more nodes on other lines, that is the end point of a line is connected to two or more end points of other lines.

Steps To Draw Nodes On Line Layer

Click on the layer in the legend so it becomes selected. The layer must contain line geometries. On the Editing toolbar, click Start Editing. For shapefiles only one person can edit the file at a time. Also, if permissions on the shapefile prohibit read/write access you will receive an error when attempting to edit the layer. Click on Edit Tools on the editing toolbar. Click on Draw Nodes On Line Layer. To remove the node graphics from the map click on the Clear Selected Graphics tool on the Drawing toolbar.
