Draw Nodes On Line Layer
This tool will graphically display the the end node types for each line in the visible map extent. A red circle will indicate a dangling node, that is the end point of a line that is not connected to the end point of any other lines. A blue circle indicates a node that is connected to a single node on another line, that is the end point of a line is connected to one, and only one, end point of another line. A green circle indicates a node that is connected to two or more nodes on other lines, that is the end point of a line is connected to two or more end points of other lines.
Steps To Draw Nodes On Line Layer
- Click on the layer in the legend so it becomes selected. The layer must contain line geometries.
- On the Editing toolbar, click Start Editing. For shapefiles only one person can edit the file at a time. Also, if permissions on the shapefile prohibit read/write access you will receive an error when attempting to edit the layer.
- Click on Edit Tools on the editing toolbar.
- Click on Draw Nodes On Line Layer.
- To remove the node graphics from the map click on the Clear Selected Graphics tool on the Drawing toolbar.
